Once described as a cross between Molly Ringwald and Winona Ryder, actress Kat Dennings established a screen presence all her own in a slew of film roles and as the star of a successful TV sitcom. Beginning her professional acting career at the age of 10, a memorable turn in an episode of "Sex and the City" (HBO, 1994-2004) quickly led to several made-for-TV movies and guest appearances on a variety of network series. Frequently playing disgruntled, disaffected teenagers, Dennings drew favorable notices for her work in such films as "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" (2005), "Charlie Bartlett" (2007) and "The House Bunny" (2008). Once given the chance, she proved herself to be a winning romantic lead in the sleeper indie hit "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" (2008) and capable of carrying a film largely on her own with "Daydream Nation" (2010). With her well-received supporting role in the comic book blockbuster "Thor" (2011) and as a co-star on the sitcom "2 Broke Girls" (CBS, 2011- ), Dennings firmly placed herself alongside Hollywood's most promising young talent.
