Before you buy the EVOLVh Ultrashine Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner ($26 & $28 respectively), there are 5 things I want you to know:
FYI- this product was gifted by the brand. I was under no obligation to review them here. The opinions below are my own. This post contains affiliate links that support TheStyleShaker.

-
a water-first formula that is free of silicones, sulfates, gluten, and is cruelty-free, vegan and color safe
the formula also includes ECOCERT and organic ingredients
the brand provides full transparency
(shampoo) decyl glucoside- a mild, gentle surfactant is right there after water + it is plant-derived, biodegradable and this formula uses an organic (eco-cert) form of the cleansing ingredient
(shampoo) I can see the amino acids touted in claims up front on the list as well
the ingredients lists almost read like a little farmer’s market list: sunflower, rose hip, apricot, willow bark, red grape, nectarine, grapefruit peel…
organic benzyl alcohol is at the verrrrrrry bottom of both (very low percentage) - everything else is recognizable and mostly moisturizing
no silicones means, “no buildup” which my fine hair is very happy about
Packaging: the brand doesn't speak to secondary packaging it ships products in so I'm not sure there.
They do claim "All containers are fully recyclable glass or plastic, and our partnership with PACT provides a recycling solution for closures and challenging items to recycle."
I'm not sure they can back up the "fully recyclable" part of this. Open to being corrected here, but most recycling facilities will not accept pumps, etc.
This means net-new plastic is involved at the moment. It's just not where it needs to be in my opinion and I hope they step up their sustainability game sooner than later (unless I'm missing info published on the website, which, if that is the case, they should absolutely bring it to the front because I'd love to see it!)

It depends on the water I’m washing my hair in, right now it’s leaning more on the hard water side of things where I currently live. I’d say the shampoo lathers nicely, but not too much which I’m fine with
The brand says you can add more product to get a richer lather. I have medium-length hair, below the shoulders, and use about two pumps to get things going - keep in mind I mainly shampoo my scalp and let that rise down the rest of my hair
As for the conditioner, it’s creamy and glides through washed hair very easily. I actually find it easier to apply than the shampoo, but that could be because my locks are thirsty
-
Scent can be personal so when rating I’m looking at whether it’s overwhelming or not.
These formulas aren’t heavily fragranced, but have a mild, clean, citrus scent. It’s one of my all-time favorites

After shampooing my hair didn’t feel stripped at all, but it did feel clean
Sometimes after I shampoo with other products it will actually feel really hard to move around, as if it’s dried a bit. This causes it to instantly tangle which I can’t stand, but that didn’t happen here
When it came to the conditioner, rinsing it out wasn’t hard as in, it didn’t stick around or feel filmy on my hair. It rinsed out after a minute or so and my hair felt soft. Not SUPER soft like some of the other conditioners I’ve tried (which personally, I’m not looking for with my hair), but soft and manageable

There are plenty of claims here, but the bottom line question for me is, “did it make my hair shine?” And the answer is YES
ClAIM: “created for dry, over-processed or frizzy hair that needs moisture - repairs, restores, and prevents breakage and split-ends” - I’m not sure if it prevents breakage, I haven’t been able to accurately track that, my hair doesn’t feel dry or frizzy when I use this though
ClAIM: shampoo, “infuses amino & fatty acids for strength & shine & elasticity + increases color retention + balanced pH closes cuticle adding (immense) shine” - there’s a lot here, but overall I’d say the shine stood out and my color didn’t fade as fast

There are so many variables to consider when it comes to haircare. Here’s what is up with my hair/water situation. I think it will help to know before you buy…
Hair type: fine, wavy, lots of it, I shed quite a bit, but not to an extreme degree
Hair health: I color treat it and use heat styling tools (but always apply a heat protectant) so it’s dry
Wash frequency: usually I wash my hair every two-three days
Water quality: the water where I live is ‘soft to moderately hard.’ I also have a Berkey filter on my shower head
Styling products: I use a leave-in heat treatment that is OK, but I kept it consistent the whole test so variables didn’t shift
Diet: omnivore, and while I like to think my diet covers my nutritional needs, I do lean on supplements for overall health (not biotin)
Stress level: I mean, let’s be honest, it varies, but I wouldn’t say I’m incredibly stressed outItem description

Shine, it really does make my hair shine without weighing it down. My hair loves it, it's why I keep going back to it.
It has a great looking list of ingredients.

Plastic bottles, no refill options currently available
TOTAL SCORE - 17/20
